Painting between the lines
For all of you excited cyclists out there, today is your christmas, or other holiday where you recieve gifts from a fatherly/mother figure.  The gravel pit that was Harbord is not the sweet sweet black top known as Harbord.  The icing was put on the top of this fine cake this afternoon as city’s crack crew of bike lane painters hit the streets. Evidently Harbord had to be ripped up not...

Jane's Dad
Jane Tooley is well-known among the cycling community.  Her bright smile, her energetic personality and her all around nice attitude has won her many friends. Friends of Jane also know that she is a person who likes to help out with causes, lots of them.  This summer Jane went to Namibia in southern Africa to volunteer in a bicycle store with an organization called D.E.E.P., Disability...

No longer your candidate for Ward 19 take 2
Hello my name is Derek Chadbourne and I am a candidate for Ward 19, or I guess I should say that I was a candidate for Ward 19.  I am actually writing today to tell you that I am withdrawing from the councillor race.  There are a couple of reasons that I am withdrawing.  The first is that I never wanted to be a politician, I just wanted to help people.  I got into this whole thing because I felt...

I have become pretty tolerant to all forms of these transportations.  I still give the stink eye to cars inline skaters in the bike lane, but for the most part I...

Sure way to get Volunteers
With the election season upon us, at least for the few that are running towards October 25th, the need to meet and greet is a strong one.  So if there is even a hint of an event where people, or more importantly voters, are going to be, then candidates will be there to help out. Case in point is the gardening that was going on this week-end in Christie Pits and Trinity Bellwoods Park.  If...

Gardening at Christie Pits
It was ground breaking day at the community Gardens at Christie Pits.  I was looking forward to getting my hands dirty, but I forgot just how much shovelling and moving dirt takes out of a person.   I have to say though I was very happy with the outcome once I had planted some lettuce and cabbage.  I also learned about the process of double digging.  You basically scrape off the top soil, dig...
