For all of you excited cyclists out there, today is your christmas, or other holiday where you recieve gifts from a fatherly/mother figure.  The gravel pit that was Harbord is not the sweet sweet black top known as Harbord.  The icing was put on the top of this fine cake this afternoon as city’s crack crew of bike lane painters hit the streets. Evidently Harbord had to be ripped up not because of how ugly the service was but because of the weight of the buses.

I was talking to the head of the paint crew and he was describing his adventures doing bike lanes around the city.  There is only one team that does the bike lanes and they have done them all.

He said that Jarvis was easy because the city shut down the street block by block on a Saturday so there was no traffic.  Bloor Viaduct was crazy he said, because of the car traffic and painting the sharrows on College was the worst, because, wait for it, the amount of bike traffic.  He said there were more bikes than cars which made it difficult to paint the road.

Hope you are listening stupid mayor candidates.  Cyclists are here, our numbers are growing and we are not going away.
